By now you probably know that the lovely Dan Chan has hung up her EAT ME accoutrements and floated off to pastures anew. She will be greatly missed by both the remaining members of the EAT ME team and our incredible audiences - but not to worry! While she may no longer be tippety-tapping away on her phone looking after the EAT ME socials, we’re sure she’ll grace our stage again sooner rather than later. She’s threatened as much.

Ah well, onwards and upwards, or so they say!

The departure of Dan Chan means this for certain; we are, once more, down a team member. We’ve spent a bit of time recharging after a hectic 2025, had a good long think about what this means for us and, finally, after weeks of deliberation, arrived at a very important decision….

It’s time to recruit, baby!

Of course that’s easier said than done. We’re a grass roots, non-profit run by queer, disabled artists. A lot, if not most, of what we do we do out of love. Love for our community, love for our craft, love for other people’s craft… but love don’t pay the bills. So, rather than looking for one new person to bolster our ranks we thought why not look for two? Or three? After all, we turn 10 next year… the more hands we have on deck the better!

SO! EAT ME is growing, and we’re looking for people who wanna get involved behind the scenes. Whether you’re interested in producing, accessibility, marketing, community building, tech, design, or event operations, get in touch!

We're particularly interested in hearing from:

  • LGBTQ+ people

  • Disabled, neurodivergent, and chronically ill people

  • People based in Liverpool City Region

  • People with an interest or background in social media

  • Anyone passionate about alternative performance, cabaret, drag, nightlife, and community-led arts

No qualifications? No problem! Heck, you don’t even need experience. We’re looking for individuals who are enthusiastic, reliable, creative, and invested in the weird and wonderful world of EAT ME. And, while this is a volunteer opportunity, that doesn’t mean that it’d be all take and no give. We can provide;

  • Access to the EAT ME studio

  • A digital portfolio via the EAT ME website

  • Access to resources and support to help with funding applications and opportunities

  • Opportunities to perform or otherwise create

  • Support with developing new skills and levelling up the ones you already have

  • Opportunities to network with industry professionals
